Paldeep Atwal, MD, FACMG, FRCP(UK), FRCP(Glasg), is a board-certified clinical and medical biochemical geneticist practicing at Atwell Longevity Institute in Palm Beach, Florida. He previously served as the Medical Director for the Center for Individualized Medicine Clinic and Clinical Lead for the Department of Clinical Genomics at Mayo Clinic's Jacksonville campus. He is a distinguished fellow of both the American College of Medical Genetics & Genomics and the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom.
Dr. Atwal completed his Postdoctoral Fellowship Training Program in Medical Biochemical Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine and served as a Fellow in Medical Genetics at Stanford University.
Dr. Atwal’s clinical focus encompasses clinical genomics, undiagnosed diseases after prolonged diagnostic odysseys, and inborn errors of metabolism, including mitochondrial disorders. Notably, he has contributed to the discovery of two novel genetic connective tissue syndromes resulting from defects in the FLNA and AEBP1 genes, and developed an untargeted metabolomic screening test for inborn errors of metabolism. He has published extensively on human genetics, with over 100 publications to date and a number of book chapters.
